Some things about ffresh

Ffresh Awards

Ffresh annually showcases the best moving image work produced by students and up and coming filmmakers from Wales, the UK, and abroad.

There are 2 ways which you can get your work shown at the festival. If you’re a student from a college or university in Wales you can enter your work into theffresh awards. The entry fee is £5 or free if you’re a student from any of the ffresh member institutions – submissions are open now and will close on October 26th. The films will be judged by a panel of industry professionals and the shortlists will be announced in January.
The other way of submitting your work to the festival is through the ffresh works, which consists of 4 categories: ExploreDreamDiscover, and Protect. The ffresh works are open to students from Wales, the UK, and abroad (so basically, everyone!) and are free to enter. Around 5 – 8 films will be selected in each category, which will be chosen by a number of guest curators.

Bafta in Wales Animation Masterclass

Aron Evans from Dinamo productions will talk about the process of putting an animated series together (be it a 2D, CGI or stopmotion series) and how you create a brand from the initial design. He will illustrate this process with projects they’ve worked on including their popular CBeebies programme Rastamousethat follows the adventures of a crime-fighting, guitar-playing, skateboarding mouse and his friends, Scratchy and Zoomer as they “make a bad ting good”.
